Integrated Pest Management An IPM approach to managing plant health is based on the philosophy that chemical control for insect and disease issues is not always necessary. For example often poor moisture and nutrient levels contribute to damaging insect or disease infestations and must be addressed before simply applying pesticides. Also the presence of beneficial insects must be considered as well as life cycles and plant damage thresholds. The IPM philosophy requires knowledgeable consultants who consider other options, prescribing chemical control as a last resort. When pesticides are required, our treatment systems include foliar sprays, liquid or granular root zone treatments, as well as systemic trunk injections. Control method selection is made through accurate pest and developmental stage identification. Our objective is to effectively protect the plant while minimizing impact to our clients or the environment. |
